Why don't you have table service?
The simple answer is complexity and cost to you. When we created Babushka's kitchen it was very important to control costs of doing business to provide a high quality product at a reasonable price. We choose the quick service model to help us reduce the complexity of the front of the house operations. When you have table service you must hire at least a dozen people to cover all the shifts and all the tables, in addition you have to continually train them, manage them, keep them happy with benefits and hope that patrons tip well enough to keep the employees working for you. All in all if we implemented table service we feel it would raise our prices by about 30% to cover the costs - and we know you would find that unacceptable.
I drove all the way here and why you don't have the pierogi or kolachky I wanted?
There are times when we just run out of our products. Our pierogi and kolachky are hand made in our kitchen. We have limited equipment and limited staff to make as many of these items as we can. Therefore, at really busy times we reach our capacity and just can't keep up with demand. You can call this both a blessing and a curse of a small business. But we do have a solution. If you are really craving those apricot kolachky or the mushroom and Swiss pierogi, call us. If you order it a day in advance we can pretty much have whatever you want. Our number is (330) 468-0402.
Why do some people seem to get their orders before me if I've already been waiting here?
During peak hours many of our regular customers know that there can be a line. They take advantage of our call ahead ordering. So if someone bypasses you in the line and picks up their order, they more than likely called ahead. You can do the same thing yourself. Just give us a ring and let us know what time you want your order ready. (330) 468-0402 - this service is for take-away only. We tried it for dine in but due to our limited number of tables it doesn't work out so well.
